(1) A young boy challenged with autism began his one-to-one drum kit lessons & Drumming For Success with me while in elementary school. After years of lessons and hard work he proudly earned an award for his contribution to his middle school’s jazz band as an outstanding performer!
(2) Ryan (Manito) Wendel participated in my DFS programs and drumming classes. This inspired him to follow his dream of becoming a master drum designer, builder, retailer, and performer. He achieved his goals and has had for several years, a waiting list of retail customers from around the world! He cannot build the instruments fast enough to meet the demand for products. Manito also has become one of the most highly skilled congueros (conga drummer) throughout the region. See www.manitopercussion.com.
(3) Trenton Hunter had no interest in music before he enrolled in DFS as a middle school student. After several years of participation in the program he has earned a college degree in music and is now a middle school band director in Mississippi!!
(4) A young girl by the name of Melanie Grimes participated in DFS while she was in elementary school in Lumpkin Ga. Because she was so inspired by the program she made a commitment to earn a college degree in music. She graduated from high school in 2016. She is now majoring in music at Georgia Southern University and is a percussionist in the pit section of GSU’s marching band. She is certainly on her way to reaching her goal of being a high school band director
