What to Hear What We Sound Like?
Dr. Scott's
CD "Drum
Voices," includes a song titled "Drumming for Success and friends
at Book Peddlers" with over twenty children playing on their drums.
Funding for Drumming for Success comes from donations and fundraisers such
as Beat the Drum, an unforgettable, percussive show in which everyone
who attends can participate in the performance. Beat The Drum features
Dr. Arvin Scott who is often joined by other renowned, special guest artists
such as Sunny Ortiz--percussionists with Widespread Panic. "It is very
inspiring to see how Dr. Scott is bringing everyone together to promote
a common goal," said Ortiz.
All visitors are invited to bring an instrument and "drum until your
hands fall off" or just sit back and enjoy the magical rhythms of the
night.
Audience participation and door prizes as always, with special guest Sunny Ortiz!
